Your data

Delete your data

You can delete your Inkwell Puzzles account and the data that goes with it at any time: in the game, or by email if you no longer have the game.

Inkwell Puzzles is made by Grapevine Studios LLC. Want a copy first? Settings ▸ Your data ▸ Copy my data puts everything we hold about your player on your clipboard.

In the game

  1. Open Inkwell Puzzles and tap the gear at the top of the front page to open Settings.
  2. Under Your data, tap Delete my account.
  3. Tap Continue, then Delete forever to confirm.

Deleting needs an internet connection. If the game can't reach our servers, nothing is deleted and you can try again. Once it's done, the game starts afresh as a new player.

By email, without the game

If you no longer have the game, or can't open it, write to support@grapevinestudios.net with the subject "Delete my Inkwell Puzzles data". So that we can check the account is yours, please include:

  • your Player ID: it is in the game under Settings ▸ About, and in any email you sent from Settings ▸ Contact support;
  • if you've bought anything in the game, the order number of a recent purchase, from your App Store or Google Play receipt.

We delete the same data as the game does, and reply to confirm within 30 days. We will never ask for your password or payment card details.

Your player is anonymous, so without its Player ID we have no way to tell which account is yours. If you linked Google Play Games, you can instead install the game again and sign in to the same Google Play Games account: your progress loads, and you can delete it in Settings as above.

What is deleted

  • Your game data on our servers: your progress in every game, coins, power-ups, collectibles, assignments and streak, the News Room, and the settings that affect play.
  • Your player account, and its link to your Game Center or Google Play Games account.
  • Your online play: your display name and picture, friend code, friends, friend requests, blocks, your online statistics and ratings, your inbox, and your notifications token. Challenges you sent are withdrawn and games under way are resigned. Your friends no longer see you, and items you sent to other players' inboxes are removed when they next open them.
  • When you delete in the game, also what it keeps on your phone: the saved game, your settings and any reminders it scheduled.

Items you bought are deleted with the rest of your progress and can't be restored.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Purchase records, so that a receipt can't be used twice: they stay in anonymised form, no longer naming your player. Records older than your last 1,000 purchases stay linked to your Player ID and contain only that ID and the product. Kept for 7 years.
  • Usage statistics (only if you agreed to share them) and crash reports, which contain no names or contact details: kept by our service provider, Unity, for up to 13 months (crash reports for up to 90 days), then deleted.
  • Emails you sent us: kept for 2 years.
  • Finished online games may keep your player ID (never your name), and Circuits keeps finished race times as recorded runs, with only the picture you chose.
  • Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases, under their own privacy policies.

The privacy policy has the details.
